Powder alerts
Get a heads-up when fresh snow is forecast at the resorts you pick.
- By email: open Alerts, pick your resorts and how much snow should trigger an alert, then tap the confirm link we email you. Alerts go out early each morning.
- On your phone (app): open Alerts, choose This phone, pick your resorts and allow notifications when your phone asks.
- Report alerts: get a morning email when skiers and riders post new conditions reports at your resorts. Turn them on from the Alerts page.
Every alert email has an Unsubscribe link and a link to change your settings.
Home-screen widget (app)
- iPhone: press and hold an empty spot on your home screen, tap Edit (or +), then Add Widget, search for SnowBrains and pick a size. It also works on the Lock Screen.
- Android: press and hold an empty spot on your home screen, tap Widgets, find SnowBrains and drag it onto your screen.
The widget shows your favorite resorts. Star a resort on its forecast page to add it.
Conditions reports
Conditions reports are posts from skiers and riders on the mountain. To post one, open Conditions or a resort page and tap Submit Conditions Report (you’ll need to sign in). Every report is reviewed before it appears.
To report or hide a post, tap the ··· button on it:

Reading the forecast
- Where it comes from: U.S. resorts use the official National Weather Service forecast; Canadian resorts use Environment Canada. Snow is shown for mid-mountain unless a page says otherwise.
- Day and night: “day” is 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and “night” is 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., in the resort’s own time zone.
- REPORTED, OBSERVED, ESTIMATED: tap the label next to a snow number to see where it came from. Reported is the resort’s own snow report, observed is a measuring station near the resort (tap through to see it on the map), and estimated comes from the weather model.
- Units: switch between °F/inches and °C/centimetres with the Units setting at the top of a resort page or in the menu.
- How accurate is it? We grade our forecasts every day against what actually fell. See Accuracy.
Deleting your account
- Sign in, then open your Account page.
- Type DELETE in the box to confirm, then tap Delete my account.
We delete your email alerts and any reports still waiting for review. Reports that were already published stay up without your name. If the page can’t delete your account yet, it tells you why and what to do. You can also email contact@snowbrains.com and we’ll do it for you.
